Snowy winter engagement photos in the north cascades

A snowy winter wonderland engagement session on highway 2 in the North Cascades of Washington 

We met Leanne & Lawson at one of our favorite secret spots along highway 2. We snowboard a lot at Stevens and had driven past this beautiful spot many times. I was just waiting for the right couple who would brave the cold and be flexible enough with scheduling that we could get this beautiful combination of morning sunlight and snow (which is rare in the PNW) so when I finally saw a forecast of heavy snow the day before followed by a sunny morning the next day I knew it was go time. We met them in the morning as the sun was coming up (it was coooooold) but this gave them all the more reason to cuddle up and stay close. They brought their adorable Golden Retriever along who absolutely loved the snow ! After we shot at the river we went over to another spot I had in my pocket. A cute little bridge in Gold Bar. They were warmed up and feeling at ease by then so we were able to get cute playful shots of them throwing snowballs for their dog and even a few at each other.
