Stephanie and Jared’s Downtown Seattle Pioneer Square engagement session was everything I love about fall in the city. The crisp air, the golden leaves, and the historic charm of the neighborhood created the perfect backdrop for their photos. As their photographer, I wanted to capture both the cozy and urban sides of their love story, and Pioneer Square was the ideal spot.

We started their engagement photos at a small outdoor coffee shop, where they shared a warm drink and a lot of laughter. It was such a natural way to ease into the session, and it fit their personalities perfectly. From there, we wandered the cobblestone streets of Pioneer Square, which looked incredible in the soft fall light. For their final look, we headed up to a rooftop overlooking downtown Seattle. The views were stunning, and the combination of city skyline and autumn skies made for a perfect ending.

What film I used

I shot their Pioneer Square engagement session on both Ilford Delta 3200 and Portra 400 film, which gave the gallery a timeless mix of black and white tones with warm, true-to-life colors. Film has such a unique way of capturing the mood, and it was especially beautiful for a fall engagement session.
