There’s something truly special about welcoming a newborn into the world, and I had the privilege of capturing the newborn session of a beautiful baby girl named Aurora. Last week at my natural light studio in Seattle, along with her wonderful family: her mother, father, and her sweet three-year-old sister. It’s always inspiring to see how siblings interact, and little Aurora’s big sister was bursting with excitement. She was eager to help, gently placing a soft blanket around her newborn sister and leaning in for sweet kisses. Their bond already felt so genuine, and it was a joy to capture those candid moments.
There’s something about film that beautifully conveys emotion and tenderness. The natural light streaming through the studio added a dreamy quality to the portraits, perfectly highlighting Aurora’s delicate features and that lovely newborn glow. Capturing a family’s connection during such a transformative time can be incredibly rewarding. These photographs aren’t just images; they are cherished memories that will last a lifetime. Welcome to the world, Aurora. You are so loved! As a Seattle newborn photographer I have learned that family photos with newborns and toddlers can be tricky ! But if you remain flexible and make it fun (for your toddler) you can get some really sweet moments captured ! I give toddlers a lot of freedom, snack breaks, and fun things they can do. I never force them to be anything but themselves. See some photos below from this sweet Seattle Newborn session with baby Aurora and her family.
