As a Seattle engagement photographer, I’m always searching for locations that carry deep meaning for my couples. Molly and Brandon’s engagement session at the Seattle Tennis Club was exactly that—personal, elegant, and full of nostalgia.
Molly grew up spending her summers at the Seattle Tennis Club, and it still holds a special place in her heart. She’s a longtime member, and now she and Brandon spend time there as a couple, playing tennis and relaxing by the water. It felt like the perfect location to celebrate this chapter of their story.
When I first mentioned that we should do their engagement photos at The Seattle Tennis Club, I knew we could create something beautiful and timeless. With views of Lake Washington, manicured grounds, and a touch of tradition, the club made a stunning backdrop for their session. To check out more about the club visit the STC Website.
Like many couples, Molly and Brandon were a bit nervous at the beginning of our session. But we took our time, walked the club grounds, and talked in between photos to ease into the rhythm. By the end, they were completely comfortable and even laughing in front of the camera. Watching that shift happen is one of my favorite parts of this job.
Later, Molly shared this with me:
“OH MY GOD BRITTANY…I cried through the whole thing!!! They are absolutely AMAZING! We’re so so grateful. They are beyond what we could have ever imagined. Seeing the final product literally takes away every single thing that made me nervous about having all the attention on us for pictures and stuff. Even the ones that you said ‘put your hand here and lean in’ and all of that, turned out looking so natural and our actual personalities and everything is captured! I can’t thank you enough!”
Reading her message truly warmed our hearts. It means everything to know that the photos helped them feel seen and celebrated.
Molly and Brandon are planning their wedding for September 2025 at Newcastle Golf Club, another location with sweeping views and thoughtful design. You can already tell they’re putting intention into every detail of their day. It was so fun to get to know them better before the big celebration!
For this session, I chose to photograph primarily on Fuji 400H film to give the images soft tones and an elegant, classic look. I love the way Fuji 400h captured the blues of the lake water. I sent the rolls off to Goodman Film Lab for processing and scanning. I’m always blown away by their consistent quality and care. The film’s pastel greens and blues brought the Seattle setting to life, especially against the club’s courts and lakeside views.
These Seattle Tennis Club engagement photos felt so true to who Molly and Brandon are as a couple. It’s always an honor to document love stories in places that matter, and this session was no exception. I can’t wait to capture their wedding later this year and see where their story goes next.
